I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. I decided to double major and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. I went on to receive my Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Citadel in Charleston South Carolina. I have been working in the counseling field for over 25 years and have experience with both inpatient and outpatient facilities. I have been in private practice since 2003 and provide individual, couple and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults. I see children as young as 5 years old and seem to have success reaching tough children/adolescents.
I have training and experience related to the treatment of Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and other mood disorders, disruptive behavior, ADHD, adjustment disorders, PTSD, grief and loss, sexual disorders, and LGBTQ+ specific issues. I also have experience working with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorders. While I am not an ABA therapist, my personality and therapy approach have been successful in helping this underserved population.
Additionally, I have specific training in the treatment of individuals with sexual behavior problems. I am a Clinical and Fellow member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and provide counseling for child/adolescents who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior.
My practice is designed to evaluate and treat general psychiatric patients using a combination of psychotherapy techniques and cognitive behavioral interventions to improve overall functioning and maximize quality of life. Through case management, ancillary treatment services may be recommended to support our therapeutic approach.
