Jerry received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. He double majored and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. He went on to receive his Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Jerry has been working in the counseling field for over 25 years and has experience with both inpatient and outpatient facilities.
He has been in private practice since 2003 and provides individual, couple, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. He see children as young as 5 years old and seems to have success reaching challenging children/adolescents.
Jerry also has training and experience related to the treatment of Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and other mood disorders, disruptive behavior, ADHD, adjustment disorders, PTSD, grief and loss, sexual disorders, and LGBTQ+ specific issues. Additionally, he has specific training in the treatment of individuals with sexual behavior problems. Jerry is a Clinical and Fellow member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and provides counseling for child/adolescents who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior.
His practice is designed to evaluate and treat general psychiatric patients using a combination of psychotherapy techniques and cognitive behavioral interventions to improve overall functioning and maximize quality of life. Through case management, ancillary treatment services may be recommended to support our therapeutic approach.
